- Sales of Cervantes-
then give a brief overview of two key sales in the works of Cervantes that will help us unravel the location of the famous sale of Don Quixote. once started outlining the sale of the Mayor, known today by Sale of Agnes, which appears already mentioned by Cervantes in his popular novel Rinconete Cortadillo "
" At this juncture perhaps, by the way passed a troop horse walkers, who were to take a nap at the Sale of the mayor, who is half a league beyond ... "
The other key selling point is called: Sale of the mill, place it where our naughty friends start their special journey.
"The sale of the mill, which is set in the late famous golf Alcudia, as we go from Castile to Andalusia, a hot summer day ..."
Within the usual speculations to which Cervantes scholars each other we have used in identifying the natural places of this fantastic work. Here we find a particular book that is rarely so sharply guarantee a place. And is that the distance indicated by Cervantes between the two sales are exactly the same that today separate the sale of Inés and Mill (Finca de la Pastora) - "which is half a league beyond ..." - addition, and this is a detail that should not be overlooked, all readers of the Quijote remember how casually in chapter XLVII of the first part reads:
" The innkeeper came to the priest and gave him some papers, saying that he had found in the lining of the suitcase where they found the novel of curious impertinent, and that because his owner had not gone over there, to take them all, that he could not read because no wanted them. The priest thanked him and then opened them, saw the beginning of the novel written said Cortadillo Rinconetey , where understood to be a novel, and gathered that because of the curious impertinent had been good, also it would be that, as could be were the same author ... "
Before proceeding we make a small item noting that sales were at the Camino Real de Cordoba-Toledo, which, at that time major step was to move from Andalusian Castilian lands, until the opening of Despeñaperros. Cervantes, therefore, that worked known for several years in Andalusia fed on all sales that lined the road giving travelers inn.
our way back, despite the redundancy, we do not doubt that the great author sought to indicate the situation here, somewhat veiled, of where they were at the adventures of our friendly hostess friends: Don Quixote and Sancho Amen belly of the new additions.
With this information we review our tracks: On the one hand we have the reference to the sale of the mill at the beginning of Cortadillo Rinconetey , on the other hand, the subsequent mention of a fictional autoperdida copies of some novels of Cervantes in the sale Qujiote; and finally, and this is in our view the most telling data, we are clearly highlighted in this sale is the work of the two rogues: Rinconetey Cortadillo, whose adventures begin on a sale of La Mancha ( Sale of mill).

What more can we say? Cervantes was a genius.
- A history of despotism -
Now we will describe a case that today has been happening in the so-called sale of Agnes, which might explain first is the aforementioned Sale the mayor whose name change happened at the end of s-XVIII, and is that some studies indicate that by mid century the sale of that belonged to the same owners of the Sale of the mill, but some years later was acquired by Ines Ruiz Castellanos who directed more than thirty years and gave him the name that even today preserves. Unfortunately the disturbing events that come here are more typical in the chronicles of a hundred years ago that in our days. And it seems that in 1986 a wealthy owner of Madrid was spent to buy the land adjacent to the sale, however, the owners of it, refused to sell his home that had belonged to his family for generations and there course, started the mess, cut their way to the entrance of your home, free access roads deliberately hedges - one path to a cave paintings - problems with supplies of light, clay pipes destroyed hundreds of years fortuitously to leave no water for the family of the sale, etc.
However, this family was slowly getting the support of various individuals and organizations and their situation was echoed among the region's political class that ultimately supported the statement of the place and its interesting natural environment as BIC (Bien of Cultural Interest), which was achieved in November 2008 . Yet the thing was not so, and the declaration of BIC was contested in early 2009 on the grounds that such a declaration affected the adjoining property, ie the land surrounding the sale of Agnes, whose owner, law in hand, papers should be informed of the processing of BIC, which did not happen and that continues to be a clerical error, at least surprising.
But at the end of the storm came the clear, is that the July 30 we read that at last the sale was finally declared as a Cultural, good news for the family that may see now send their harassment with the law on their side, and good news for all visitors to its natural sites and cultural heritage advocates. Congratulations!
